The individual who develops and operates Tamareel (the “Operator”) handles Users’ personal information appropriately in providing the video storage and viewing service Tamareel (the “Service”). This Policy sets out the handling of personal information in the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information to the extent necessary to provide the Service.
- Account information
Email address, encrypted or hashed password, language, time zone, and other information registered or configured by the User. - User Content and related information
Videos, thumbnails, subtitles, video titles, descriptions, tags, playback positions, upload dates and times, file sizes, conversion settings, and other information necessary to manage and view videos. - Usage and technical information
IP address, browser or device information, access dates and times, activity logs, error logs, authentication and security logs, storage usage, and data transfer volume. - Payment-related information
Subscription plan, billing status, Stripe customer ID and subscription ID, and other information necessary for billing management. Credit card numbers and other payment information are handled by Stripe, our payment service provider, and are not directly stored by the Operator. - Inquiry information
Name, email address, inquiry details, and other information provided by the User to the Operator.
2. Purposes of Use
We use the information we collect for the following purposes.
- To register Users for the Service, verify identity, authenticate Users, and manage accounts.
- To upload, store, convert, deliver, and view videos, and to manage User Content.
- To bill fees, process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent and respond to unauthorized use.
- To manage storage capacity, data transfer volume, and other usage limits.
- To respond to incidents, maintain the Service, implement security measures, prevent unauthorized access, and improve the quality of the Service.
- To send important notices about the Service, verify identity, and respond to inquiries.
- To respond to violations of laws, the Terms of Use, or our policies.
- To take action required by law.
3. Handling of User Content
- Videos and other User Content in the Service are stored in a private library solely for the User.
- The Operator does not ordinarily view or review User Content and does not provide features or operations for constantly or periodically monitoring its contents.
- However, where there is a legal request, a security need, reliable information indicating a possible violation of the Terms of Use or our policies, or another reasonable reason, the Operator may review User Content to the extent necessary and may restrict use, delete content, or take other action.
4. Service Providers and Provision to Third Parties
We may entrust the handling of personal information to the following providers to the extent necessary to provide the Service.
- Amazon Web Services, Inc. or its affiliates
Storage and delivery of videos and data, system operation, and email delivery. - Stripe, Inc. or its affiliates
Payments, billing, and fraud prevention.
We appropriately select and supervise service providers. Except where required by law, where the User has consented, or where processing is entrusted as set forth in this Policy, we do not provide personal information to third parties.
5. Processing Outside Japan
The Operator or service providers may process personal information outside Japan in connection with the operation of cloud and payment services. We implement necessary security measures in accordance with applicable laws.
6. Security Measures
To prevent unauthorized access, leakage, alteration, loss, or damage of personal information, we implement reasonable security measures, including access controls, appropriate management of authentication information, encryption of communications, log management, and supervision of service providers.
7. Retention Period and Deletion
- We retain personal information and User Content for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use, the period required by law, or the data-retention period set forth in the Terms of Use.
- If a User cancels or otherwise loses eligibility to use the Service, we delete User Content and other data after the retention period set forth in the Terms of Use or otherwise displayed has elapsed.
- Where necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to disputes, prevent unauthorized use, or for other reasons, we may retain information to the extent necessary.
8. Users’ Rights
To the extent permitted by law, Users may request notification of the purposes of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or cessation of third-party provision of their personal information held by the Operator.
We accept these requests through the contact point below after verifying the requester’s identity.
9. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies to the extent necessary to provide the Service, including to maintain login status, implement security measures, and preserve language settings.
If we introduce access analytics or advertising delivery, we will publish the provider, information collected, purpose of use, and opt-out method in this Policy or through separate notice.
10. Information of Minors
Minors must obtain consent from a legal representative or other appropriate person before using the Service.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may amend this Policy where reasonably necessary, including due to changes in law or changes to the Service. We will provide notice of the amended content and its effective date on this website or in the Service.

Upon a request by the individual under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Operator’s name and address will be disclosed without delay.
13. Language
The Japanese version of this Policy is the authoritative version, and this English version is provided for reference only. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version prevails.
